Q: ¿Qué equipos aceptamos?

A: Laptops, desktops, cell phones, tablets, power cords and peripherals, gaming consoles and controllers, GPS units, cameras, cable boxes, audio equipment, and the like. List of Acceptable Items

Q: What items are NOT acceptable?

A: Please consider the health and safety of your mail carrier when packing your box! Loose batteries and hazardous waste (mercury, fluorescent bulbs, etc.) will NOT be accepted. List of Un-Acceptable Items

Q: Is there a weight limit?

A: For the cost of a single label, you can send us as many electronics as will fit in your box up to the weight you purchased. For individual device labels (e.g. Mobile Phone, Tablet, Laptop) it shipping label includes one (1) device.

Q: Where do I get a box?

A: We strongly encourage you to reuse a box you already have at home. Medium-sized boxes tend to be the perfect size (think your standard Amazon delivery box).

Q: What size box can I use?

All boxes must meet the specifications for ground shipping.

Specifications: Each box must measure no more than 108 inches based on the following formula: (Length + 2x Width + 2x Height) is less than 108 inches (Length is the longest side).

Q: How do I mail my box?

A: Shipping is simple! Done with IT uses several postal carriers to maximize efficiency of the program. Mailing instructions will be provided with your shipping label.

Q: Where (and how) are my electronics recycled?

A: Whenever possible, we will find new uses for the electronics we receive. If that’s not an option due to condition or age, we responsibly process and demanufacture the devices through the Certified e-Stewards and/or R2 recycler that services your location.

Q: How do you keep my data secure?

A: Your data security is a primary concern for us. Your box will be received by and stored in a secure recycling facility until processing. Our Certified Recyclers have undergone extensive and ongoing third-party auditing to ensure that their data destruction processes are effective and secure.

Q: How is my data removed?

A: Data Sanitization destruction methods allow reuse of the drive when possible, and third-party auditing ensures our processes are secure and effective. Drives that are unsuitable for reuse will be physically destroyed via shredding.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Done with IT offer several recycling options. This covers the cost of shipping, data removal and/or destruction as well as refurbishment and certified recycling. Discounts are available to communities and organizations that join TERRA.
